Abstract

Collective memory as a reference theoretical basis is separated into cultural and communicative with the aim of istinguishing the archaic and contemporary understanding of the Old Slavic myth in interpersonal and intergenerational communication among residents of Žrnovnica. Research was conducted using a questionnaire on an intentional sample of a total of 50 residents. The results confirm the existence of cultural memory among respondents and a high level of general knowledge about Old Slavic myth. We found no statistically significant differences in the communicative memory of the respondents in relation to age, nor indications of interruption of intergenerational communication on this subject.
